Crystalets Breath Perfume

Crystal Vending Co., c. 1908, 10 ¹/₄". The Crystalet was patented by the R.D. Simpson Company circa 1908. At some point the Crystal Vending Company was formed in Columbus, Ohio, home of both the R.D. Simpson Co. and the Columbus Vending Co. I don't know the relationship between Simpson and Crystal Vending, but I'll speculate that Crystal Vending was a sales arm of Simpson and was formed specifically to sell this model. In Silent Salesmen Too, the Crystal Vending Co. is associated with only one model and this is it. I'll also speculate that this was manufactured by Columbus, since I believe Columbus made all of Simpson's early cast iron vendors. This model is rare.

The body and paint on the example above are original. The baseplate is a cast iron recast of an original baseplate, and the globes and decals are new. The decal aging was done very well!
