Kayem Products Co., Inc., Los Angeles, CA, c. 1947, 13 1/2". I've always liked this machine. Without the front graphics it's just a box. With the front graphics it's art! This model purportedly sold a stick of gum for a penny or a pack of gum for a nickel. The penny version is waaaay less common than the nickel version---I know of only one example, of which you can see a picture here thanks to its owner William. The Kayem is almost always labeled as Wrigley's or Beech-Nut, but I've seen a couple of Warren's labels on the front. All 3 types have the same pretty lady; only the name differs. This is the same machine as the Reed's aspirin vendor, except for the denomination, the body color, and the graphics.
This example is 100% original except for some or all of the white paint on the 'shelves.' I know that only because the guy I bought it from told me he'd painted them. Even knowing that I've scrutinized them closely and can't tell. After all these years I'm beginning to wonder if he lied to me about that.
